The PowerBook comes complete with a faster processor, a higher quality graphics card and more ports and connections. You'll pay a bit more for this powerful laptop, but if you are a professional needing maximum processing power, this is the choice for you. The PowerBook comes in three sizes: 12, 15 and 17 inches.

Buy a MacBook if you want to pump up your digital life. This laptop comes with a built-in camera, iLife and a supercharged 13-inch display. The price and design are comparable to the iBook, but when picking a MacBook you have a choice of colors.

If you are looking to shave a few dollars off the price of your Apple laptop, buy the 12 inch version of any model, as you can easily plug the laptop into a monitor or television screen while working at home.
