How to Use the Where I've Been Application on Facebook

The "Where I've Been" application on Facebook is a program that displays a map on your profile page detailing where you have traveled to, lived, and wish to visit. This program provides a great conversation topic for visitors of your profile page and is very simple to use.

Instructions

Installing the Program

1. Log into your account on the Facebook website.

2. Click on the "Edit" button next to the "Applications" menu on the left side of the page if you want to edit your Facebook applications.

3. Browse the applications listed that you currently have loaded in your Facebook account. Click on the "Browse more applications" button on the upper-right side of the page.

4. Search. In the upper-right side of this page, search for "Where I've Been" in the field where it says "search apps."

5. Locate. Your search will display several results. Locate "Where I've Been" and click on it.

6. Load. From the "Where I've Been" homepage, click on "load application" link on the upper-right side of the page.

Using the Application

1. Now that you have loaded the application, you have to indicate where you have been, where you have lived, and where you want to travel. Locate the application within your Facebook profile and click "Edit my map."

2. Pick and choose using the three maps that are displayed--two world maps and a zoomed in map with cross-hairs. Roll your mouse over places on the large world map were you have been, want to go and have lived.

3. Click on the countries or states where you have lived, traveled and wish to go. A menu will pop up and ask if you have lived there, traveled there or want to go there. Click on the appropriate option and then click "Save."

4. Save your map once you have finished updating it by clicking "Save." Your updated map will now appear in your profile.
