A baby wrap is a convenient item for parents. Parents with newborns and toddlers find it useful. There are a wide variety of ways to use a baby wrap. This description is for a front-cross carry. Once you get the hang of this method, you can try other ways that allow you to securely carry your baby on your hips and back.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Fold the baby wrap in half lengthwise. Holding the rails (the long tails) to your side, place the baby wrap around your waist with the center point near your belly button.
Step2
Wrap the rails around to your back. Leave the first twist loose enough to add your baby.
Step3
Draw the ends of the rails over your shoulders. For comfort, smooth out the rails as much as possible as they cross your shoulders. This also helps to distribute the weight of your baby.
Step4
Cross the rails one more time as they come across your front. Tuck them behind the center point where you started the baby wrap. Pull the rails around to your back, and tie them.
Step5
Spread the piece of baby wrap that's the central starting point. Make any final adjustments because here comes baby.
Step6
Secure one of baby's legs gently in one side of the front cross. Pull fabric up around baby's bottom. Repeat on the other side.
Step7
Pull the starting point up over baby's bottom to firmly secure him in the baby wrap. Make any final adjustments for your comfort as well as your baby's. Now you're ready to go.
