Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Dance while you learn and study the art of ballet. Some dancers start at a young age and continue with their study of ballet well into their adult years. Young dancers start with ballet classes for enjoyment. The older and more advanced a ballet student becomes, usually the more serious their study and their level of knowledge of ballet becomes.
Step2
Study ballet while exploring the various types of ballet dance. Beginning ballerinas start their ballet dance study by performing in flat soft ballet slippers. As their knowledge of the art of ballet dance and their strength as a dancer develops, many of these dancers move on to perform on pointe. In addition, the study of ballet dance should include learning about the various styles of ballet including classical ballet, Russian ballet, French ballet, modern ballet and lyrical ballet. There are variations in all forms of ballet that make them unique and it would take many years to learn all the differing techniques from all the styles of ballet performed.
Step3
Learn about the history of ballet dance. There are many who study ballet history that may never have taken a dance class in their lives. The history of ballet dance would include studying the various ballet performances. It is a fascinating study of ballet to compare the performances, such as "The Nutcracker," from today's holiday performances back through history to see how the choreography and styles of the dance have changed or have stayed the same.
