Find a dance studio or teacher. Dance instructors offer a special price for lessons, but beginners should not pay for more than 10 lessons to start. If after that time ballroom dancing is still appealing, pay for several months of lessons and get a discounted price of 20 percent or more off the price of individual lessons.

Begin to learn ballroom dancing with the very basic steps. The waltz is the easiest dance for beginners. There are numerous steps in waltzing, but the beginner can learn in a few lessons.

Enjoy the Swing dancing of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Swing dancing and Big Band music are lively and romantic, evoking those bygone eras. Swing dancing also allows partners to hold one another close in nice slow easy steps.
