Step aerobics are a popular way to achieve a good, low-impact, cardiovascular workout. The Repeater step aerobic exercise combines a variety of moves for a fast-paced workout.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand in front of a step aerobic platform with your toes facing the long end of the platform.

  2. Step 2

Step to the lower left corner of the platform with your right foot. Bring your left leg up and kick forward. Put your left leg back down behind you and tap the floor with your toe.

  3. Step 3

Kick again with your left leg, and then tap the floor behind you with your toe. Do this once more so that you have done the kick and tap 3 consecutive times.

  4. Step 4

Set your left foot flat on the floor behind the step after the third kick. Step down with your right foot so that you are back in the position in which you started.

  5. Step 5

Perform the same moves on the other side of the platform. Step onto the lower right corner of the platform with your left foot. Kick forward with your right leg. Reach your leg back and tap the floor behind you with your right toe. Repeat the kick and tap twice more.

  6. Step 6

Rest your right foot down on the floor behind you after the third kick, and then follow by stepping down with your left foot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use good posture when doing step aerobics. Hold your chest high and keep your abs tight.
  • Keep your entire foot on the platform when you step up. This can be challenging when you're stepping onto the corners, but you don't want your foot partially hanging off the edge.
  • Warm up and cool down before and after a workout.
