Pull out the wood pellet stove's exhaust pipe and the tube for the outside air.

Remove the steel plate located in the back of the stove. You do not have to loosen any screws. Just lift the plate up and away from the stove.

Cover the exhaust pipe and turn on the motor to observe how it runs. If the fan turns off after a small fire is started in the firebox, the safety switch is not functioning correctly and is not sending the proper signal to the control panel.

Unplug the stove and place the plug out of the way.

Remove the motor assembly by unscrewing it from the feeder screw with an Allen wrench.

Turn the auger with your fingers. If it jams, check for a twig or something lodged inside that may be impeding it. Remove the obstruction and turn the auger again. It should turn freely.

Plug in the motor and observe how it works. If the motor turns but the gears do not engage, you need a new motor. This can be purchased from the manufacturer or from a stove shop.

Place the new motor in the wood pellet stove.
