    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Completely dark room
    • Deck of cards
    • 5 or more players
      • 1

Remove Jokers from a deck of cards. Also remove all Aces and Kings from the deck except for one each.

      • 2

Shuffle and deal out a deck of cards to each player until all cards in the deck are gone. The person who receives the Ace is the murderer in this game, and the person who receives the King is the police officer. Do not tell anyone whether you have or have not drawn one of these cards. Keep your cards with you as you play.

      • 3

Face the wall and turn out the lights after the count of three if you are chosen or volunteer to do so. The room or rooms should be as completely dark as possible. You shouldn't be able to see a thing.

      • 4

Walk amongst all other players if you are the murderer and silently kill them by tapping them firmly on the shoulder. You can tap as many victims as you can before the lights go on.

      • 5

Fall down immediately if you are tapped. Feel free to make dying noises when you are murdered.

      • 6

Scream out "Murder in the Dark!" if you run across someone who has been murdered. Turn on the lights if you are closest to the switch as soon as you hear the scream.

      • 7

Go around the group of players who are still alive and guess who the murderer is and win the game if you guess correctly. If you are the police officer and were killed, place your King card on your chest as you lay dead, which means the game is over. The murderer should reveal himself at the end of the game by showing his Ace card.
