    I don't think this article properly apprises people of just how serious a komodo dragon bite is. Komodo dragons have over 50 kinds of bacteria in their saliva, some of which can induce sepsis within a matter of hours. If the bite is not tended by a medical professional IMMEDIATELY, the area will develop gangrene and require amputation. Really it is the bacteria, not the venom, you want to be afraid of.
