Step 1
Boardshorts make or break the style. No self-respecting wakeskater would show up in short swim trunks. Go for that longer, somewhat baggy appearance. Look for a neoprene fly which won't snag on body hair like velcro. Seamless or melted inseam stitching will go a long way to avoid scratching the skin all around. Boardshorts should be quick drying, durable for spills, lightweight and comfortable. And, of course, in totally sick patterns and colors.

Step 2
Get wakeshoes. Look for self-draining, quick drying wakeshoes with a sticky rubber outside and a soft cushioned sole.

Step 3
Wear sunglasses. Keep the sunlight and spray out of your eyes. There are many cool brands of glasses designed specifically with extreme water sports in mind. Ventilated draining eyewear keeps the lenses clear and unclouded. Adjustable straps keeps them secure during spills. You can even order them with prescription lenses. Always go for 100% UVA and UVB protection.
