The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is the Super Bowl event of the film industry. The biggest stars of Hollywood and the fashion industry grace the red carpet on Oscar night. This is the most prestigious award in the film industry and it is a great event to attend. Here's how to prepare if you ever have the opportunity.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get an invitation. Unfortunately, attendance to the Academy Awards (Oscars) is by invitation only. So either become an actor or try to be an actor's date. Or become an entertainment reporter or a paparazzo so you can work the occasion.

  2. Step 2

Sign up to be a seat filler. A seat filler fills the seat of a person who leaves the theater. The producers of the Academy Awards want the theater to always look full for the wide camera shots, thus they hire seat fillers.

  3. Step 3

Sleep on the sidewalk in order to sit on the bleachers that line the entrance to the theater. Or you could stand in the roped section along the red carpet to see your favorite stars. Although this would not count as attending, you will still get the chance be near the red carpet.

  4. Step 4

Attend film school or get a job in the film industry. Then one day you could possibly attend the Academy Awards and even take an Oscar home.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are able to be a seat filler, wear comfortable shoes. Seat fillers are always on the move and never in a seat for long. While waiting for a seat for you to fill, you will wait either in the back or on the side of the theater.
