The company motto is, "Where Best Friends Are Made," and Build-A-Bear Workshops are making friends all over the world. At a retail store, kids can make teddy bears and many other cuddly stuffed animals to bring home. The process is quick and simple, personalized and fairly affordable. Locate a workshop nearby and make a new friend.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a Build-A-Bear workshop and choose your animal. There are a variety of animals to pick from, such as farm animals and house pets. Select one of these adorable creatures and get ready to make it your friend.

  2. Step 2

Stuff it. The workers will fill it with stuffing, "Heart Stuff". Then your child will select a satin heart, make a wish and place it inside. Next you can choose from a pre-recorded sound message or create one of your own for an additional fee.

  3. Step 3

Seal it up. A barcode is put inside your new friend before it is stitched up. If it gets misplaced, the workshop will find the right owner and return it as soon as possible.

  4. Step 4

Dress it. There are over 100 variations of clothing and accessories to choose from. The outfits cost an additional fee.

  5. Step 5

Get a personalized birth certificate or story book. The computer will ask questions about your child like his/her name to put on the certificate for your pet. It will also ask for a name that your child would like to call the stuffed animal.

  6. Step 6

Bring it home. Your new friend is ready to go home with your child now. It will be safely held in a Pet condo carrying case until you can let it out of the box to play. Making friends is lots of fun when kids use Build-A-Bear Workshop.
