Things You'll Need:

Step 1
Check your Firefox to be sure you are using a compatible version. Select "Help" in the Firefox menu bar. Then Select "About Mozilla Firefox." The version number for your installed Firefox appears at the bottom of the drop down box.

Visit the Firefox extensions page (see Resources below), if you already have Firefox for Windows installed. Visit the Linux operating system Firefox addons page (see Resources below).

Type "GetVideo" in the search box on the website or simply browse through the available categories, to find the GetVideo extension. Download the extension. Firefox prompts you to ask you if you trust the plug-in author, before continuing.

Restart Firefox to complete the installation. GetVideo adds an icon to your Firefox status bar.

Configure GetVideo options by right-clicking this icon. You can also configure your options in the Firefox menu. Select "Tools," then "Add-ons." Scroll to GetVideo and highlight it. Click on "Options" to set your preferences.

Customize your copy if desired. Add additional video sites and file types by modifying the code provided at sephiroth, the programmer's site.

Step 7
Use GetVideo to search for YouTube and Google videos, by keyword. Right click the GetVideo icon to open a search box. Type keywords for videos that you want to find. Choose videos to preview or download from the results.
