Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Find a picture of Napoleon so have a visual idea of how he looks. Try a quick search on the Internet or look in an encyclopedia for a picture.
Step2
Base your costume on a picture of Napoleon in one of his military outfits. He is most well-known for his battlefield expertise as a general, so people will more readily recognize your character if your costume has a military look.
Step3
Consider your height. If you're exceptionally tall, this may not be the best costume for you. Although some historians disagree over Napoleon's actual height, popular culture has depicted him as shorter than the average man.
Step4
Get some knee-high, black riding boots and white breeches or pants. A black or navy uniform jacket will complete the military look. Find some medals that resemble military medals. Pin these all over your jacket.
Step5
Pay special attention to your hat. Many pictures of Napoleon Bonaparte show him with a black bicorne hat. A bicorne hat has a large brim on all sides, however the front and back are pinned up to the top of the hat so it forms a fan-like shape over the person's face.
Step6
Practice the famous Napoleonic attitude. Act petty, bossy and tyrannical. Order people around and become dramatically angry at the slightest offense. Walk around all night with your chin up and one hand tucked inside your suit coat.
