But dress like the Gene Simmons of KISS' heyday--makeup, boots and cape--and you'll look completely awesome. Follow these simple steps and get ready to rock 'n' roll all night and party every day. Instructions

The Outfit
-
1
Scour your closet for Gene Simmons-type duds. You probably don't have anything worthy of KISS' bass god. But if you have black pants, that's a good starting point.
-
2
Visit a local costume shop (or find one online) to rent the rest of your outfit. Gene loves all things silver and spiky, so look for wrist cuffs, studded chokers and platform boots (the higher the better).
-
-
3
Complete the look with a black lycra tank top and a black cape.
The Makeup
-
4
Apply white makeup (often referred to as "clown makeup") to your entire face. Use a makeup sponge for a smooth and even application.
-
5
Use black eyeliner and draw the outline of Gene's iconic black "mask." Find photos of his makeup at any of the numerous KISS fan websites, including kissonline.com and kissasylum.com
-
6
Fill in the "mask" outline with black makeup or face paint.
-
7
Draw an upside-down triangle on your forehead with the black eyeliner. The triangle's base must be at your hairline, and its tip should extend about halfway down your forehead.
-
8
Fill in the triangle outline with black makeup or face paint.
The Hair
-
9
Purchase a medium-length, black wig. Or just tousle it and go, if you happen to be blessed with a thick mane of it.
-
10
Cut some sections of the wig shorter than others, to create a "layered" look.
-
11
Add volume with a few spritzes of non-aerosol hairspray.

Tips & Warnings
If you really want to get into character, consider wearing a tight black jumpsuit instead of a black tank top and pants.
Black and white makeup are often sold together as part of a kit. A costume shop or party store should carry the kits.
