How to Join DeviantArt

DeviantArt is an online community for artists and their artwork. It gives artists the chance to connect with other artists, submit their artwork and look at the pieces submitted by other users of deviantArt. There is no charge to become a member of deviantArt.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. Start on the deviantArt homepage. To the left you will see an icon labeled "Become a Deviant!"
2. Choose a username. There is an empty field that requires you to fill in a username that is unique to the site. Once you select a name, click on the "Join!" option.
3. Complete the registration form. Put in your e-mail address, password, date of birth and your real name. All other fields on the form are optional.
4. Decide between a free or choice membership. A free membership allows you to view and submit art as well as chat with other members, keep track of your favorite artwork and keep an online journal. A choice membership involves paying an annual fee to access advanced online journal options, mobile phone settings, larger thumbnails and ad-free surfing on the deviantArt site.
5. Agree to the terms of service and etiquette policy. These lengthy policies let you know about all the things prohibited on deviantArt. You should look these over before you submit any artwork.
6. Confirm your email address. Once you respond to the email confirmation, your account is active.

• If you want to stay up-to-date on deviantArt's new features and settings, sign up to receive their newsletter.
• Watch out for a ban notice when you attempt to create your deviantArt account. Due to problems with certain Internet providers, your server may be banned and you will be prohibited using that server to create an account.
