How to Build an Ice Fishing Stove
When you're out ice fishing for a couple of days you will probably get hungry for a hot meal. You don't want to build a campfire out on the ice though for obvious reasons. Follow these steps to build an ice fishing stove to stay afloat of your hunger pangs and ward off the cold with a hot meal.

- 2 sides made of 1/4-inch plate 11 1/2 x 11 5/8 inches
- 1 top made of 1/4-inch plate 18 x 11 3/4 inches
- 1 bottom made of 1/4-inch plate 18 x 11 3/4 inches
- 1 back made of 1/4-inch plate 11 1/2 x 11 5/8 inches
- 4 legs made of 1/8-inch angle iron 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1/8 x 6 inches
- 4 leg stands made of 1/4-inch plate 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches
- 1 3-inch stove pipe
- 1 door latch made of 3/8-inch plate 6 x 1 inch
- 1 draft control made of 1/4-inch plate
- 4 hex nuts and bolts
- 1 door hinge
- 1 can high temperature spray paint

Lay out the steel to cut it. Cut the steel to the specified sizes.

Grind the edges of the steel so they're perfectly angled. Tack together the ends and sides of the ice fishing stove and make sure they're squared off.

Tack the top and bottom of the stove to the ends and sides of it. Make sure they are at perfect 90 degree angles. Weld them all together.

Make a 3-inch hole in the top of the ice fishing stove to insert the pipe. Weld the pipe into the hole.

Design a door by cutting a 6 x 6-inch hole in to the front of the ice fishing stove. Weld a latch, handle and hinge on to the door. Place the frame of the door on the inside and weld then put the door on.

Invent a vent control by drilling a total of three 3/4-inch holes in the draft control. Weld the handle on to the draft control and bolt it to the stove.

Create the legs and plates for them then weld them onto the ice fishing stove. Clean and paint the stove with a high temperature paint.
