How to Fix a Nosey Neighbor

Having a nosey neighbor can be more of a nuisance than humorous. If you are tired of fielding intimate questions, running straight into the house when you get home or making up answers to personal questions, here are some ways to fix a nosey neighbor.

1. Accept the fact that your neighbor is just nosey. Trying to understand them or even change them can frustrate you.

2. Put a privacy fence around your property. Cover the deck or patio or wherever you lounge and entertain company.

3. Have delivery personnel place your packages by the garage door or inside the storm door in the front. You can also request that your packages be held at a pickup center and just pick them up when your schedule allows.

4. Answer any questions that your neighbor asks you with a simple "yes" or "no." If the questioning goes beyond that, just smile and say, "I'd prefer not to say."

5. Put up privacy curtains and blinds on your windows.

6. Plant a tree in the line of sight between your property and your neighbor's property line. As the tree grows, so will the opportunity to discourage your neighbor's nosy behavior.
