How to Set Up a MySpace Account

These days it seems like everyone has a MySpace page. If you don't have one yet, you may be worried about the level of difficulty involved in setting up a MySpace account. The process is actually quick and painless, and it takes only a few minutes to get up and running.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the MySpace website and click on the "Sign up" button (see Resources below).

    • 2

Fill out the necessary information. You'll need to provide your email address, first name, last name, password, country, postal code, date of birth, gender and preferred language. You will also be required to check a box saying that you agree with the MySpace terms of service and privacy policy. Click "Sign up" when you've filled in all your information.

    • 3

Confirm your identity. You need to type in a series of letters as shown in a graphic. This is to prevent automated signups.

    • 4

Upload a photo. MySpace asks if you want to upload a photo so that others can easily identify you. (It doesn't have to be of yourself.) If you don't want to upload a photo, you can choose the "Skip" option below the "Upload" box.

    • 5

Invite your friends. You then have the opportunity to invite friends and family members to MySpace. This helps you increase your number of MySpace friends.

    • 6

Verify your email address. Sometime during the setup process, MySpace sends an email to the address that you used when you signed up. Click on the link in the email to verify your account.

    • 7

Dress up your site. You can now begin to fill out your profile information and change your backgrounds and photos.

Tips & Warnings

  • Children under 13 years of age should get permission from a parent or guardian before signing up.
