Things You'll Need:
- Turntable
- A CD (If wanting to put songs on a CD)
- PC
- A Mini-jack to phono cable
- A recording progam on your PC
- Vinyl Records

Step 1
A mini jack to phono cable. The mini jack is on the right, the phono on the leftBuy a Mini-jack (the same connection that fits into your MP3 player headphones socket) to phono (the socket at the back of your turntable) cable. These can be bought from the website down at the tips section at the bottom.

Step 2
Plug the two-ended end of the cable (The phono connection) into your mixer or turntable. If your using a mixer, its best to use the 'Record' output.

Step 3
Plug the other end (mini-jack) into the microphone/record socket on your computer.

Step 4
Switch on your computer and open up the recording progam.

Step 5
Switch on your turntable/mixer. Place the needle at the start of the song.

Step 6
Press Record and record 5 seonds of the song. Keep repeating this step, adjusting the volume levels using the volume control - or make the sound better using the EQ on the mixer - to make the sound perfect.

Step 7
Cue up the start of the song, press record and start the song. When the song/mix is finished, press Stop Record.

Step 8
You can now burn the song file on your computer to a CD.

on 2/21/2009 Pretty good, but conventional turntable phono output is too weak for line input on the PC card, requiring a boost by routing the phono output through a stereo receiver or amplifier. Then use the Y-cable to pass 2 channels from the receiver Tape Record Out into a miniplug in the sound card Line-In.
