Step 1
Call your local Salvation Army or other non-profit organizations in your area. Many organizations need extra help during the Christmas season and can gladly find something worthwhile for you to do. Make sure the organization is non-profit before volunteering.
-
Step 2
Find a food shelter and help cook, distribute food or clean up after dinner is served. These shelters rely on volunteers, and regular volunteers may not work during Christmas. Food shelters are especially busy during Christmas and need many volunteers.
-
Step 3
Volunteer at a hospital or senior center. Many patients do not have family and would love to have someone to talk to on Christmas. Visiting these places can brighten the lives of others and even start friendships.
-
Step 4
Start a drive of some kind and donate the proceeds to a shelter in your area. Food, coats and other warm clothing are always needed at most shelters. Gifts for children and adults are especially appreciated during Christmas.
