Things You'll Need:
- A blog
- A browser
-
Step 1
Go to technorati.com and follow the steps to Join.
-
Step 2
Set up your account.
-
Step 3
Claim your blog. This is a Technorati term that simply means give them the URL of the blog where you're going to use tags.
-
Step 1
A Technorati tag is a link that uses a standard format. That format is:
<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/terms+go+here">terms go here</a>
You customize two parts of the link. First, you put your terms where it says terms+go+here. If it's a one word tag, perhaps something like "blogging" then the plus signs are not needed. If you use more than one word in the term, perhaps "blogging tips" then use plus signs like this: blogging+tips. Secondly, customize the words the user clicks on. These should correspond to the words you entered inside the quotation marks in the link, except be given in plain text. If your term was "blogging+tips" then the word for the user to click would simply be "blogging tips." -
Step 2
You must write a link for each tag. Separate them with a comma. Use the same format over and over, just change the terms.
<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/term+one">term one</a>, <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/term+two">term two</a> -
Step 3
Publish your blog post.
-
Step 4
View your blog in a browser. Test the Technorati tag by clicking on one of the links. You will be taken to Technorati, where you will see any posts that share that technorati tag.
