How to Manage a Fantasy Football Roster

Who will create the best fantasy football matchup? Who will create the best fantasy football matchup?

One of the trickiest things about managing your fantasy football team is deciding who should play and who should sit. Hopefully the fantasy draft gave you some depth to take advantage of when picking your starting lineup. Now you just have to decide on how to utilize it the best possible way to rack up fantasy football points.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Identify the best fantasy player you have on each position of your roster. The best fantasy player isn't always the best player on his NFL team, it all depends on how your point system is set up. Usually, however, a star player also puts up good fantasy stats.
Step2
For offensive players, check to see who they are facing. If your no.1 running back is facing a team with a monster defensive line and line backer squad while your no.2 is playing a mediocre team, go with your no.2. Same thing goes for wide receivers. If one player faces a tough secondary and another has the potential to torch a horrible one, the choice is obvious.
Step3
You can apply the same strategy for defenses. If they play a high octane offense, their fantasy football points will suffer, even if they end up winning the game. Start the defense that faces a inexperienced quarterback or weak offensive line.
Step4
If you have more than one kicker on your fantasy football roster, there is something wrong with you, but also, start the one who faces a tough defense because there will be more field goal opportunities due to a lack of touchdowns.
Step5
Check out the free agent pool each week to see if you can find a bargain.
Step6
Keep track of bye weeks and make sure you don't have a player starting if his team is not even playing that week.
