Yahoo! group subscribers can get tired of receiving emails from a specific group. To unsubscribe from any Yahoo! group, follow the steps listed below.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Yahoo! Group

    Unsubscribe on the Yahoo! Website

  1. Step 1

Go to www.yahoo.com. Click on the link to the left of the page titled "Groups."

  2. Step 2

Sign into Yahoo! with your user name and password.

  3. Step 3

Select your group page by doing a search for your group when prompted. Or you can simply click on the link titled "Visit Your Group" provided on any email you have received from the group, if you are signed up to receive emails when a member posts. This will take you directly to the group page.

  4. Step 4

Click on the "Edit Membership" link at the top of the page when you are on the group page.

  5. Step 5

Click "Leave Group" at the bottom right of the page that comes up after clicking "Edit Membership." After you click this link you will no longer receive email messages when someone posts on the page, you will no longer be listed as a member of this group and the group will no longer be on the list on your My Groups page.

  6. Unsubscribe by Email

  7. Step 1

Type groupname-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com in the "To:" section on a new email message.

  8. Step 2

Replace the word "groupname" on this email address with the actual name of the Yahoo! group you wish to unsubscribe to.

  9. Step 3

Send a blank email to this address.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you wish to stop emails from this group, but remain a member, go to "Message Delivery" on the "Edit Membership" page and change your message delivery option to "Web only" by clicking on the box in front of this option. After you make this change, you will only see messages posted to this group when you visit the page.
  • If you are the owner of this group, you need to cancel your ownership in the Members Section before you can unsubscribe to it.
