Go to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources website. To read the fishing regulations, press the "Fish" option from the top menu.

Click on either the "Freshwater" or "Saltwater" link. Or read both if appropriate.

Search for and select the "Fishing Licenses" link under the "Licenses" heading.

Review prices and information, then decide which type of fishing license to purchase. Decide whether to purchase your fishing license online or by phone.

Press the "Back" option on your browser to return to the previous page.

Get your credit card and identification information ready.

Click on the red "Buy" button. If you decided to purchase your license by phone skip Step 8 and instead call (866) 714-3611.

Select the "Purchase your license online" link. Follow the prompts. Fill out the required information, including credit card details, to purchase your fishing license.

Enjoy your fishing privileges immediately. Your official South Carolina fishing license will arrive by mail.

Follow steps 1 through 5 from the "Purchase Fishing License Online or by Phone" section above. Press the red "Buy" button.

Scroll down to option number 2. Select the "License Sales Agents" link.

Choose a location by clicking on the county name.

Visit your nearest fishing license sales agent and purchase your fishing license in person. Grab your fishing rod and start fishing.

Follow steps 1 through 5 from the "Purchase Fishing License Online or by Phone" section above. Press the red "Buy" button on the left.

Select either the "Resident" or "Non-Resident" link.

Download and print the fishing license application. Fill out all applicable sections and mail the form and payment to: License Division, P.O. Box 11710, Columbia, South Carolina 29211-1710.

Wait for your license to arrive by mail and start planning your fishing trip.
