How to Draw Opaque Objects in MS Paint

With MS Paint, the user has the option to draw shapes like circles and rectangles in multiple styles: filled, non-filled, or bordered. With the filled or opaque style, the shape will paint over whatever is underneath it, and the result will be a solid block of color across the page.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open an MS Paint window.

    • 2

Select your shape tool on the toolbar on the left by single clicking on it. The circle and the rectangle are your basic draw shapes.

    • 3

To draw opaque, move down to where you see three rectangles. You have two choices: the second rectangle will draw a shape with one color as a border and another color as the fill color. The third choice will result in a solid-color shape.

    • 4

Look at the color bar at the bottom of your page. You will see two small squares, one overlaying the other. The top box is the color of your border or your shape, depending on which rectangle you selected. Clicking on another color will change the color setting.

    • 5

Now draw your shape across the page by clicking down and dragging the mouse until you get the desired size, then letting go of the mouse button. Your bordered shape will be filled with white. Your solid-color shape will be the color you selected.

    • 6

If the shape is not well positioned or the wrong color, just choose Undo under the Edit menu and start over.
