Establishing yourself in an Internet home business can be a stressful experience, requiring a huge investment in time and a commitment to sticking with it, even when things seem bleak. But those willing to invest a lot of their time, a few hard-earned dollars and some good old-fashioned perseverance could find pots of gold at the end of their rainbows.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Compile a list of everything that interests you. This can range from peanuts to foosball. It's important that your business be based on something that piques your interest.

  2. Step 2

Do key word searches. The easiest way to do this is to enter three-word phrases into a search engine or, more specifically, use the tool listed in the Resources section. This will generate related topics for your business.

  3. Step 3

Design your website offering information, products and links related to whatever niche topic you've decided to attract. Setting up your site can take awhile, but the results are worth the effort.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the process, until you run out of three-word phrases. By the way, search engines will love the fact that you'll use these phrases to generate names for your site, because it makes their job easier.

  5. Step 5

Keep working on these websites by constantly updating their content. New products bring in new customers.

  6. Step 6

Set up a commercial account that will enable you to process credit cards online. It is also a good idea to set up an account with Paypal.

  7. Step 7

Make sure that it is easy for your customers to contact you by placing a link to an e-mail address dedicated to the website.

Tips & Warnings
  • Beware of get-rich-quick schemes, where they claim you can make tons of money with a minimum of effort. These usually take the form of SPAM e-mail messages or could be pop-up advertisements connected to websites.
  • Many multi-level marketing schemes don't work and only generate significant incomes for participants way the top of the pyramid chain. These usually involve sales of a product and recruiting others to work "for" you.
