1
Set the scene. You want your guests to feel relaxed and ready to play. Stash the coffee table in a back room and give them plenty of room to play. Many Wii games are meant to be played while standing up; so, the more room you have in front of the TV, the better.
-
2
Decide the party particulars. You want to keep the party small and manageable, so do an inventory of the games you have and the number of Wii remotes that you own. If you only have two-player games, a group of eight friends may not be the best choice. Make sure to schedule at least three hours of game play.

3
Choose party games. There are many Nintendo Wii games to choose from, so when hosting a party, make sure to have a handful of titles that are fun for multiple players. If your friends are new to the Wii system, choose games that they can learn to play quickly.
-
4
Serve finger foods. Your guests will be busy laughing at each other, so serve foods that they can pick up and nibble on during game play. Fondue is a fun choice since guests won't have to get their hands dirty to eat.
-
5
Give everyone a Mii. Many Nintendo Wii games require the player to have a Mii character created, so as the guests arrive walk them through the Mii creation process. If your guest list is mainly couples, allow them to create Mii characters for each other.
-
6
Give everyone a turn. Playing the Wii and watching someone else play are completely different things, so make sure that everyone has a turn with the Wii remote.

Tips & Warnings
Take lots of pictures. Seeing your friends doing the Mohawk stance in Smooth Moves is worth getting on film.
Create an invitation that sets the mood. You can either create an online invitation or mail out invitations to your Wii party; just create something that helps set the scene. Come up with a catchy title like "Are you Wii-dy to party?" or "Wii really want you there!"
If some of your party guests have Wii games, ask them to bring their Wii remotes with them to the party. That way, more of you can play at once and you won't have to create a new Mii for each party guest.
Make sure that everyone knows the proper way to hold a Wii remote. Show them each how to operate the wrist strap, and remind them all to wash their hands after eating to prevent any accidents.
