The task of an art director is to keep an overall visual consistency in products for such fields as marketing, theater, film and television. Determine the field you want to go into as an art director. The fields are marketing, Internet, theater, film and television.

Pick a craft as your specialty. A specialty can be photography, art design, stage craft, graphic design. A specialty can get your foot in the door.
