    Things You'll Need

    • Coupon organizer or small folding organizer with pockets or folders.
      • 1

Purchase a small folding organizer that is easy to tote. You will want to keep this organizer in your bag or in your car for either easy access when making planned or unplanned trips to the grocery store.

      • 2

Select a grocery store where you prefer to shop. Though you may spend your time shopping at a few different stores, pick one that has most of the products that you buy regularly. This will help you determine how to organize your coupons.

      • 3

Figure out your method of movement throughout your preferred grocery store. If you like to begin in the produce aisle, place your produce coupons toward the front of your organizer. For easy identification of a specific coupon, organize within each folder. How you organize these coupons is up to you depending upon what makes sense. Consider alphabetizing the coupons or grouping them into categories. For example, instead of separating coupons for different types of beans, put all of these into one grouping.

Plan ahead. If you know that you will purchase tissue paper and you have a coupon for this product, set it aside in your organizer in a place that you will remember. Then, as you shop for products, keep these coupons in sight so you remember to use the coupon during checkout.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Coupons generally have an expiration date so make note of these expiration dates or color code coupons with tabs so you remember to use them in time.
