    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Cardstock paper
    • White Christmas lights
    • Pink tulle
    • Princess birthday cake
    • Dress up slippers
    • Crown kits
    • Nail polish
    • Makeup
    • Carpet squares
    1. Party Set Up

      • 1

Send out handmade invitations in the shape of a crown. You can cut out the shape using cardstock paper. Add embellishments with glitter or rhinestones.

      • 2

Decorate the party scene with white Christmas lights and pink tulle. Hang pink tulle in the doorway like a stage curtain. You can also wrap chairs with big pink tulle bows.

      • 3

Order a princess themed birthday cake. You can purchase cakes with princess figurines on top, royal icing designs or specially shaped cakes. If you bake your own cake remember to add some royal touches.

      • 4

Ask all your royal guests to dress up as a princess. If you are having little boys at your princess party instruct them to come as knights.

      Party Activities

      • 1

Send children on a scavenger hunt to find Cinderella's missing slipper. Use a dress up shoe as the slipper.

      • 2

Decorate a princess tiara or king crown with markers, foam stickers and glitter. You can buy crown kits from party or craft stores.

      • 3

Do mini-makeovers for the little princess guests. Paint their finger nails, apply light makeup and fix their hair. Princess attendees love these activities.

      • 4

Play musical chairs with "Jasmine's magic carpets" using carpet squares in a circle. When you stop the music, the princesses must sit on a carpet. Those left standing are out. Let whoever is out stop the music on the next round.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Keep the number of guests invited to a manageable number.

I think this is wonderful... and I am sorry mermaidmonkeys, but I don't know of any little girl who loves princess who wouldn't want Jasmine, Cinderella, Snow White or any of the other Princesses there in person if they could. You as the parent makes it Commercialized or NOT.... It is NOT about the $$ it is about the dream!

These tips are okay for a Disney theme party, but not everyone wants Jasmine or Cinderella at the party. You can have a classic princess theme without all that commercialism (and you can find ways to incorporate the boys).
