1
Use a wide-toothed comb and working from the bottom, gently comb out the tangles. Work on one tangled area at a time and move on to the next one when that area is complete.
-
2
Try spraying a detangler in your hair before brushing it. Suave makes a great detangler that is available in the children's hair care section of most major grocery stores. It works well on adults too.

3
Wash and condition your hair before trying to brush it. After you wash your hair put conditioner in it and use a wide-toothed shower comb to gently comb through your hair. Rinse it well and pat your hair dry.
-
4
Spray a leave-in conditioner in your hair and brush it. Work from the bottom of your hair to the top.
-
5
Have someone brush your hair for you so they can see the snags easier and work them out. It is difficult to see the back of your head and therefore harder to get to the tangles.

I found THE MOST AMAZING brush for both me and my dog!!! It is called a tangle teezer and can be purchased from a place in Toronto over the phone. This brush glides through my hair and gets rid of ALL TANGLES without me feeling a thing. It also goes through my long haired dog's coat like nothing! She used to run and hide when she saw the brush coming out and now she hears the drawer open and comes running!!! Call 1-800-486-1570 and the best part is they cost less than $20.00!!!!!
