  1. Step 1

Determine the shape of your face: oblong, heart, square, round, diamond, triangular or oval.

  2. Step 2

Identify your hair texture: coarse, smooth, fine, wavy, curly, straight, dry, oily, thin or thick. Keep your texture in mind when determining the right style. For example, if you have straight hair and you choose a curly style, you may have to spend a lot of time maintaining the style.

  4. Step 4

Locate a wig store and try on wigs in the styles and colors that you are contemplating.

  5. Step 5

    Decide on a hair style.

  6. Step 6

Choose a stylist who is familiar with your hair and has experience cutting hair in the style you select.

  7. Step 7

Get a haircut styled in the hair style you selected.
