How to Pack a Monitor for Shipping
Packing and shipping a desktop computer monitor safely is a bit more problematic than shipping other computer equipment because of the glass screen. With the proper use of packing peanuts, foam wedges and a corrugated cardboard box, a large office computer monitor can be shipped safely even without the original packaging. Buy a box and packing materials from the post office or an office supply store. Measure the monitor and get a box that is a little bigger than the size indicated.

Take detachable cables off the monitor. Wrap them up in plastic bags or in the original packing material and put them in the box.

Cushion the monitor with bubble wrap or foam. Place foam wedges on either side of the monitor for optimal protection.

Place a shipping label on the front of the box and attach one on the inside of the box as a precaution. Print your name and address clearly with dark, thick marker.

Tape the box with packing tape or paper tape. Make sure the monitor is packed firmly before closing the box. Double tape the top and bottom of the package.
