How to Dress Like a Bunny Rabbit

Whether it's for Halloween, Easter or just a party occasion, a bunny rabbit is a popular costume choice for both children and adults. It's warm, comfortable and easy to put together. You may already have everything you need at home. If not, it's easy to find the materials to make your costume at your local thrift shop.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Sweat suit
• Needle and thread
• Felt
• Velvet
• Scissors
• Bunny slippers
• Yarn or cotton wool
• Face paint
• Gloves or mittens
• Sneakers

1. Find a hooded sweat suit in an appropriate color. Many bunny rabbit costumes are white, yellow or pink. Look for a velvety material for best effect.

2. Cut a large oval of felt to make the chest. Attach it to the front of the sweat suit with a needle and thread.

3. Buy some material to make the floppy rabbit ears. This should be the same color and texture as your sweat suit. Cut out the ears and sew them onto the hood of the sweat suit.

4. Sew a ball of cotton wool or white yarn to the seat of the sweat suit pants. This will make a great rabbit tail.

5. Paint your face white with face pain, making sure to avoid the eyes. Use the paint to create big bunny eyes, a rabbit nose and whiskers for your Halloween or Easter costume.

6. Put on your bunny rabbit costume. Slip your feet into a matching pair of sneakers and use matching gloves for the bunny rabbit's paws. Start hopping and you are ready for your Halloween or Easter party.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want your bunny rabbit costume to be a different color, buy a white sweat suit and use fabric dye.
• You can also make rabbit ears out of felt and use wire to make them stand up. Some shops sell headbands with the ears attached.
• If you don't have face paint, use an eyeliner pencil to create the bunny's nose and whiskers.
