Hate how priceline makes your change your options in order to re-bid on a hotel? Here is a way to rebid on the SAME area and maximize your changes of getting the 4 star hotel at the right price!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • Internet connection
  • Priceline account
  1. Step 1

Goto priceline.com and Name Your Own Price for hotels

  2. Step 2

Select the City that you want

  3. Step 3

Priceline will let you select the area within the city that you want to stay in. When you select an area, priceline will also let you know star quality of the hotels within that area. Go through each one separately and note which areas do NOT have a 4 Star hotel.

  4. Step 4

Once you have the list of areas that do NOT have a 4 star hotel, select the first area that you want to stay in that DOES have a 4 star hotel.

  5. Step 5

Start your bidding at 50% of the suggested retail

  6. Step 6

If you win great. If you don't, then priceline will require that you select ANOTHER area in order to rebid. HERE IS WHERE THE STRATEGY COMES IN: Select ONLY another area that does NOT have a 4 Star property. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE, LIKE ALSO PICKING A 3 STAR HOTEL. Essentially, you are bidding on the same area since the new area you have chosen does NOT have a 4 Star hotel.

  7. Step 7

Raise your bid by $10 and rebid. Again, all you have done is select another area that does NOT have a 4 Star hotel.

  8. Step 8

Keep rebidding until you run out of areas that do NOT have 4 Star hotels.

  9. Step 9

Hopefully, you have been able to hit the bid on a great room!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't win, try again after the 24 hour wait period but maybe upping your initial bid.
  • When first doing the research in which areas have 4 Star hotels, make sure you do NOT select more than one area at a time to see the quality of hotels in that area. You want to select ONE AT A TIME and note if a 4 Star hotel is available in that area.
  • Not all cities will have multiple areas without 4 Star hotels. However, works great for Seattle.
