How to Hide a Hickey

Even though your sweetie lovingly gave you that hickey, you may dread the idea of other people spying the large blemish on your neck. A hickey is really just a bruise that results from broken blood vessels in the skin. If you don't want your parents or your friends to not know about your hickey, you can use several methods to hide it.

Instructions

1. Put ice on it right away. The hickey will diminish in appearance if you use ice on it soon after your make out session.

2. Use green concealer. This type of makeup can be bought at any drugstore and will completely hide the hickey or at least make it less noticeable. Neutrogena manufactures a green cream concealer that can work wonders.

3. Apply a thick layer of foundation. Blend the foundation into your entire neck area and top with some powder. Use a shade that is slightly darker than your complexion. Use a lower cost brand like Maybelline or Cover Girl since you may need to use a lot.

4. Keep your hair down. If you have long hair you can hide the hickey by keeping your hair parted to the side that the hickey is on.

5. Wear a scarf or turtleneck. If you happen to get the hickey in colder months, you are in luck since you will be able to use clothing to cover it up.

Tips & Warnings

• If you are a slow healer, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and take vitamins. The hickey will fade much quicker.

• Do not put a bandage on a hickey. It looks silly and makes it more obvious.

• Do not wear a turtleneck in the middle of the summer to hide a hickey. Use another method to conceal it.
