"Naruto" is an anime television series based on a Japanese comic. Naruto, the main character of the show, is a teenage ninja striving to be recognized as the leader of the local ninjas. The show began running in Japan in 2002, and it was syndicated to the U.S. and Canada in 2005 and in the UK in 2006.

Instructions

    Select Naruto Toys

  1. Step 1

Find out what the show is about. Visit the official Naruto website to learn about the background story and about the characters (see Resources below). The most common type of Naruto toy is an action figure, and this website will help you learn a little bit about the characters.

  2. Step 2

Select a reliable child's favorite, a replica ninja sword. The official Naruto sword is relatively inexpensive and comes with various electronic sounds for enhanced pretending for the youngsters.

  3. Step 3

Spend a little more on an electronic toy as a special gift for a child who loves to pretend. A toy like the Ninja Challenge--Glove & Chakra Launcher is more expensive than a single action figure, but it encourages children to learn special hand signals in order to trigger electronic bursts of sound. This type of toy is a good choice to teach children the value of concentration and practice.

  4. Step 4

Select an active toy like a Shuriken Shooter Accessory for kids who have plenty of space to play outdoors. This toy is essentially a plastic target shooter and therefore should only be purchased for children responsible enough and old enough not to shoot at people instead of targets.

  5. Step 5

Look for sets of Naruto toys. It may be less expensive to buy action figures in sets than to buy them individually.

  6. Step 6

Surprise the Naruto fan with a collectible. The Naruto store sells collectible mystery boxes containing a surprise character. The surprise figure could be Shikamaru, Naruto, Kakashi, Gaara, Sarutobi or Sasuke.

  7. Step 7

Visit the official Naruto store when you are ready to make your purchase. You may find items that have just been released but are not easily found in stores yet (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • The question of authenticity of a collectible usually will arise based on where you make your purchase. Examine the toy and its packaging carefully to ensure you are getting what you are paying for.
  • Ask what the child's favorite character is before you select an action figure. The universe of the Naruto series has a large array of colorful characters.
