Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver
  • Quality Electronics Contact Cleaner
  • Vacuum With Hose Attachment (Brush Attachment Optional)
  • Cleaning Solution Such as Window Cleaner
  • Clean Cotton Rag
  1. Step 1

Unplug the pro audio power amp. Make note of all current connections to other equipment. Disconnect the amplifier from everything.

  2. Step 2

Apply cleaning solution to a cotton rag and clean the exterior of the pro audio power amp. Do not spray cleaning fluid directly onto amplifier.

  3. Step 3

Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top to the unit. Remove the top panel. Do not touch the inside of the unit.

  4. Step 4

Inspect the unit for signs of trouble. The most common problems will be potentiometers (also called pots) and jacks that are pulling away from PC boards or pots that are separating. If these problems are observed, take the unit to a qualified technician for repair.

  5. Step 5

Vacuum the interior of the unit concentrating on the areas around any vents or fans. A brush attachment may be necessary, particularly if the unit is used in a smoky environment.

  6. Step 6

Rotate all potentiometers from back and forth through their entire arc ten to twenty times. This helps keep the interior track of the pot free of dirt and reduces popping and drop-outs.

  7. Step 7

Apply contact cleaner to a swab and clean all jacks, even those not used. Replace top of unit.

Tips & Warnings
