Things You'll Need:
- Some sort of ball(s) (I recommend 3 hacky sacks or if you do have them, juggle balls)
- A open space to practice, with at least one open wall. (don't worry, the wall will not be harmed in anyway)
-
Step 1
Ok, to begin you need to know how to use one ball. This will seem kind of boring but believe me, it will help. Take your first ball and set the others aside. Then, toss it in the air, from one hand to the other, back and forth. The ball should be going about as high as the top of your head. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY VERY EASY. Its tossing a ball back and forth.
-
Step 2
To begin the second step, which is juggling two balls you must do something slightly more difficult. Take one ball in each hand and toss them at the same time. Use the phrase: "toss, toss, catch, catch". This will train your brain to think this way. When you toss them at the same time you are also catching them at the same time. So you toss them both up, toss, toss, then catch them both, catch catch. This is still pretty simple. Make sure that you practice this as it will be important. Now we move on to the hard part.

Step 3
2 balls in one hand, 1 in the other. This next part can only be mastered with practice. I can do it pretty well but it is not easy. You take 2 balls in one hand and 1 in the other. Make sure that the 2 balls are in the hand you are most comfortable with, for example, if you are right handed then you would probably want the 2 balls in the right hand. Or if you are left handed, you would want them in your left hand. It varies from person to person.
Now, heres what you do:
Take the first ball, the one that is closest to your fingertips in whatever hand you have the two balls in and throw it into the air. As soon as you do that take the hand with only the one ball in it, the one that has not thrown one yet and throw that. Catch the first ball as you throw the last one up. I know that this is very confusing but it does work. Just read it again until you get it. Also, try searching juggling on the web. This will show you clearer example than I can. Good luck!!!!!

on 6/4/2009 I agree with MasterCard. I learned by juggling 1 ball, then 2. In step 2, throwing them at the same time is different (and more difficult) than when you move on to step 3. Plus, throwing them one after another helps you perfect your rhythm.

on 11/26/2007 I think that the second step my through some people off, because when you actually juggle you don't throw to balls at the same time.
When you practice with just two balls you should throw one up with your right hand (or whatever hand you feel most comfortable with) then right when it starts to descend throw the second ball into the air and catch them with the opposite hands.
I don't know if that'll help, but that's they way I learned.

on 9/14/2007 Ok, not a bad method. If you're still struggling with this though, try this:

It's the most gradual method on the Internet!
Enjoy!
