Things You'll Need:
- Sufficient memory to download game software
-
Step 1
Visit the American Contract Bridge League website or use your search engine to find online bridge games (see Resources below). You will find that free sites, as well as pay-to-play sites, are equally represented for most operating systems.
-
Step 2
Check out websites such as Yahoo!! Games, where you will find bridge as well as other card games played online (see Resources below). Generally, you will need to create an account to gain access to these features.
-
Step 3
Download the correct bridge game for your operating system. Though not every online bridge game requires additional software downloads, you should be sure that the game you wish to play is compatible with your computer's operating system and that you have enough system memory to play the game.
-
Step 4
Review the basic rules of bridge at the American Contract Bridge League website before you begin playing (see Resources below). Look for an online bridge game that provides different levels of play from beginner to advanced, particularly if you are just starting out.
-
Step 5
Log on to the online bridge website of your choice and begin playing. Good etiquette requires that you complete the game. It is not appropriate to leave a game mid-play, as this may be disruptive to the other players.
-
Step 6
Understand that communication with your partner outside the table environment while playing is a severe breach of bridge etiquette. Though the temptation to cheat and communicate what cards you have in your hand to your partner may be present, you will not get the full experience of the game and you rob the others at your table of an enjoyable experience.
