Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Call a local travel agent to get recent information on hotels and security warnings for Mexico.
Step2
Seek out neighbors, family and friends that have recently visited Acapulco, and where they stayed. Not all vacationers are looking for the same things, so be aware of the hotel amenities that they appreciated.
Step3
Check hotel Web sites to make sure that the hotel is operational. Weather off the coast can bring severe hurricanes that may close down hotels and resorts for short periods of time.
Step4
Determine what activities interest the group that is traveling and where they are located. Find hotels in the center of that area. No one wants to travel forty five minutes every morning from the southern end of the city to reach the tours that leave from downtown.
Step5
Ask if the hotel has shuttle services to and from the airport and other favorite attractions. Don't get stuck at the airport in a line for taxis.
Step6
Determine if the hotel of your choice has air conditioning in the rooms and lobby. Most hotels do, but if visiting Acapulco in the summer, air in the hotel is a must.
