The city was built to make sense to those using the canals, not those on foot. You're bound to get lost at least once as you wander the streets searching for hidden gems of the city.

Carry a pocket map of Venice with you at all times. Mark the places you want to visit on the map before you set out on your adventure.

Know how to interpret a Venetian address. The district name is written first and is followed by the building number. Then the street name is written in parenthesis.
