Paying special attention to your arms by stretching them increases your flexibility, takes pressure off your back when you're lifting things and helps tone the muscles in your arms. Here's how to stretch your arms.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Raise your arm and bend back so that your hand is on your shoulder blade. Place the other hand on your elbow and pull gently to stretch the triceps muscles. Repeat for the other arm.

  2. Step 2

Stretch your arms above your head with fingers interlocked and reach toward the ceiling. Pull your elbow across your chest with the opposite hand.

  3. Step 3

Place both hands against the wall and lean forward and down with your head between your arms and with your arms straight.

  4. Step 4

Interlock your fingers behind your back and bring your arms up gently.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you feel mild discomfort, hold, and then stretch slightly further. Avoid bouncing.
