Toolbars take up space on your browser window. This equals less space that you have to view the Web pages you visit. If you have multiple toolbars, you may find that a quarter or more of your screen is taken up by them. Even if you just have the Internet Explorer toolbar, you might find want to remove it to give yourself a bigger viewing area, especially if you do not use the toolbar that often. Accomplishing this is easy with Internet Explorer.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have more questions regarding how to remove the toolbar from Internet Explorer, just head to the useful FAQs page (see Resources below).
  • Before you download Internet Explorer, make sure you know if your computer can handle it. At a bare minimum, 64 MB of memory on your hard drive is required for Internet Explorer to operate.
  • Enjoy your Internet travels free of the worry of identity theft. While criminals do often set up fake Web sites for the purpose of luring you into giving them your personal information--an activity known as phishing--Internet Explorer has you covered. Its phishing filter will tell you if you visit a Web site that might be a sham. The phishing filter comes already enabled, so you don't need to do anything to be protected.
  • If you want the Internet Explorer toolbar back after you remove it, just hit the 'Alt' button on your computer's keyboard. The toolbar will instantly reappear.
  • These instructions were designed using Internet Explorer 7.0. Older versions of Internet Explorer are not likely to be compatible with these instructions.
