How to Use Your PSP for Multi-Player Gaming With Someone Else With a PSP

Multi-player PSP games allow you to connect with another PSP owner who is playing the same game. In many games, you can either compete or work together. This adds a whole lot of fun to the gaming experience, since competing with another person is usually less predictable than competing with an AI (artificial intelligence).

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sony PSP
  • Friend with a PSP and the game
  • Multiplayer PSP game

    Set Up Ad Hoc Mode

  1. Step 1

    Choose “Settings” from the “Home” menu.

  2. Step 2

    Select “Network Settings” and then press button “X.”

  3. Step 3

    Select “Ad Hoc” mode and then press “X.”

  4. Step 4

    Choose how you want to communicate with the other PSP. The PSP you want to connect to must use the same channel that you choose here.

  5. Step 5

    Press “X” to save your settings.

  6. Connect With Another Player

  7. Step 1

    Load up your PSP game.

  8. Step 2

    Make sure the “WLAN” switch on your PSP is set to the “On” position.

  9. Step 3

    Choose “Game” from the “Home” menu.

  10. Step 4

    Choose “Game Sharing” from the “Game” Menu.

  11. Step 5

    Ways of interacting vary widely depending on the game you are playing. Check the instructions that come with your game for more details.

Tips & Warnings
  • Depending on the game you’re playing, you may be able to play with or against your friend.
  • You can play anywhere, since you don’t need an internet connection to play this way. However, you and your friends will need to be within fairly close range to allow your PSPs to communicate.
  • The game you’re playing must support PSP Game Sharing to play with someone else.
