How to Sign Up For Flickr

Flickr is a popular photo sharing Web site that allows users to upload digital photos, sort them and organize them into albums. When you sign up for a Flickr account, you can easily start sharing, uploading and browsing photos from all over the world. Flickr is available in two versions: the basic Flick version and Flickr Pro, which charges a nominal yearly fee. Once you sign up and upload your photos, you can send a link to your family and friends so they can view them online.

• Digital camera

Create Your Yahoo! ID to Sign Up for Flickr

1. Go to the Flickr home page and click on the "Sign Up!" button (see Resources below).

2. Click on the "Sign Up" link, where it asks, "Don't Have a Yahoo! ID?"

3. Create your Yahoo! ID by entering your personal information in the specified fields, including your name, preferred Yahoo! ID and password.

4. Select a security question from the drop-down box and type your answer in the field provided.

5. Select your birthday from the drop-down box.

6. Type your ZIP code and your alternate email into the specified fields.

7. Enter the code shown to verify your account.

8. Read the Terms and Conditions and check the box to indicate that you have read it.

9. Click the "I Agree" button to create your Yahoo! account.

Sign Into Your Flickr Account

10. Visit the Flickr home page and click on the "Sign In" link.

11. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password in the specified fields.

12. Click the "Sign In" button to access your account.

Begin Uploading Photos

13. Begin the uploading process by selecting "Upload Your First Photo."

14. Click "Browse" to select the photo you want to upload.

15. Choose the thumbnail of the photo you want to upload and click "Open."

16. Continue this process to choose up to 6 photos.

17. Add a tag to your images. Use keywords that represent the photos and ones that will help you find them later.

18. Choose the privacy setting for your photos. You can select whether or not you want to have your photos available to family and friends, or whether you want everyone on Flickr to be able to view your photos.

19. Click "Upload" to begin uploading your photos to your account.

Tips & Warnings

• Make your account secure by creating a password that is unique to your Flickr account. Combine letters and numbers that others won't be able to guess.
• Change your password occasionally to protect your security.
