    Things You'll Need

    • Facebook account
    • Computer with Internet access
    • Valid email address
    1. Leave a Note on Your Profile

      • 1

Go to the "My Notes" page after you've logged in from the Facebook home page (see Resources below).

      • 2

Click on the "Write a New Note" link. You will need to enter a title and the body of the note. You can even upload photos from your computer using the Browse feature.

      • 3

Preview the note to see how it will look when it's published. This is especially helpful if you are adding photos or using basic HTML. Click 'Edit' to continue making changes to your note.

      • 4

Tag your note! Fill in the box to "Tag People in This Note." As you type, Facebook will auto-complete the names with those of your friends.

      • 5

Hit "Publish" when you're finished making changes and tagging your note.

      • 6

Share your notes with your friends. Just click the "Share" button for the note you want to send to your friends. They may even leave you a comment.

      Write Notes From Your Cell

      • 1

Send a text message to "notes@facebook.com." The first time you send a message, you will get a reply with a code.

      • 2

Sign on to Facebook and go to the "My Groups" page. Click on the 'Mobile Uploads' link and enter the code you received in the proper box. Hit the "Confirm" link.

      • 3

Send notes to Facebook from your cell whenever you feel like sharing something. After you confirm your phone initially, the notes will be posted immediately.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can subscribe to your friends' notes on their profiles with an Atom or RSS feed.

    • You can import your external blog to be posted as Facebook notes. See the Facebook Help section for tips on importing (see Resources below).

    • Do not leave personal information like your password, phone number or address in your notes--especially if your notes are set to a low degree of privacy.

    • While leaving notes from your cell is free, your mobile provider may charge you a fee for sending an email or text message.
