How to Create A Job Search Agent On Monster
A job search agent on Monster is an automated script that takes into account your interests, career goals, education, qualifications and local area when searching for potential jobs for you. It is a quick and easy way to narrow your results to only include those jobs you would be interested in. With a few quick steps, you can create up to 5 job search agents for free on Monster.

Log into Monster

Visit the Monster home page (see Resources below) for instant access to your account.

Click "Log in." You should be automatically logged into your account. Note that if you are on a new or public computer, you will need to enter your username and password.

Create a Job Search Agent

Hold your mouse over the "Find Jobs" tab without clicking it. As you do, a drop-down menu will present you with a list of choices. Choose "Job Search Agents."

Click on the link to "Create a Search Agent."

Type keywords associated with your job search agent. These could be words like computers, marketing, mechanic or executive. They should describe your ideal job and consist of only one word each.

Narrow your search by choosing to search for "all of these words," "this exact phrase" or "at least one of these words." Also, pick words to exclude if you so desire.

Pinpoint your job search location(s) by typing your home city, state or zip code. You can also use the list of states to select multiple locations. Note that you can use the "Show All Global Locations" link to see jobs outside the US as well.

Specify further job options such as company name, job category, job status, job type or salary range to narrow your search.

Give your search agent a title and click either "Save Agent" or "Save & Run" if you want to perform the job search immediately.

Tips & Warnings
In order to create a job search agent, you will need to create a free account on Monster. To get help with this, refer to the sign up help page for first time users (see Resources below).
If you already have 5 job search agents on your Monster account, you will need to delete one before creating a new one.
Never divulge private information such as a driver's license number or social security number to anyone, even potential employers.
It is against the law for employers to inquire about your race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or marital status, so know that you never have to answer any of these questions at any time during your job search.
