How to Configure a Linksys Broadband Router

If you're the owner of a new Linksys Broadband Router you might be wondering how on earth to configure it. Most of the newer routers are quite easy to set up, so you'll be connected to the Internet in no time.

Things You'll Need

• DSL or cable modem
• Computer
• Linksys Broadband Router

Instructions

1. Connect and install your router according to the product manual.

2. Open your Web browser then check your product manual for the Web address you need to enter.

3. Enter the Web address, then enter the user name and password supplied in your manual.

4. Enter the required setup information. You'll need to call your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for this information if you don't have it already.

5. Choose the connection type you want from the drop-down menu labeled "WAN Connection Type." The connection type you need will depend on the information you receive from your ISP.

6. Click the "Apply" button to save your settings, then close the browser window.

7. Reset the power on your modem.

8. Restart your computer.
